Lite 87.8 Radio Station

The design and fit-out of Sri Lanka’s first permanent live radio broadcasting studio in Colombo city center shopping mall, Colombo, had to reflect the station’s unique brand and character. Lite 87.8 live broadcasting studio theme is inspired by few retro elements and color pallet which strongly combine with the brand colors and it’s theme. The interior design faced several challenges including the location and motion pattern of the users. Attracting of a small, corner located interior space in a high dense shopping mall were achieved by using the retro color pallet and legendary art pieces in both ceiling and walls. The warm lighting conditions has balanced the theme with it’s modern furniture and fit-outs. The operations team had to be extremely careful when laying out acoustic systems, and high-tech systems used by the station. And as the network regularly welcomes celebrities, senior officials and general public, the studio was designed with these fundamentals in mind.
